- Past and present members of the University court
- Alumni of the University
- All academic and academic-related staff of the University
- Honorary graduates of the University
Associate membership is open to
- Wives and husbands of members (Associate Members receive the Journal and invitations to attend events, but may not vote at General meetings)
Affiliated membership is open to
- University of Edinburgh clubs and associations
